Overview

AD series surface mount non-solid aluminum electrolytic capacitor, capacitance 4.7μF, voltage 250V, dimensions Φ6.3×10.5mm, operating temperature 105℃, tolerance ±20%, SMD package

Key features

  • Aluminum electrolytic capacitors self-heat and age due to superimposed ripple current; every 5°C temperature rise halves the service life
  • Recommended reflow count: no more than 2 times
  • For a 2nd reflow, ensure the capacitor has fully cooled to room temperature (5–35°C) after the 1st reflow
  • Maximum temperature rise rate: 5°C per second (average)
  • Maximum temperature drop rate: 6°C per second (average)
  • Maximum time from 25°C to peak temperature: 6 minutes
  • Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are polarized; install with correct polarity — reverse connection may cause circuit short or capacitor damage; use non-polarized capacitors in circuits where polarity may be reversed or uncertain
  • Do not apply reverse voltage or DC voltage exceeding the rated voltage; over-voltage causes a significant increase in leakage current and capacitor damage; use at rated voltage is recommended to ensure service life; surge voltage is the maximum voltage the capacitor can withstand for a short duration
  • Ripple current must not exceed the rated value; excessive ripple current causes overheating, capacitance degradation, and shortened service life; the sum of the peak ripple voltage and DC voltage must not exceed the rated working voltage
  • Operate within the rated temperature range; operation above the upper temperature limit significantly shortens service life or may open the pressure relief valve; operation at room temperature ensures longer service life; service life doubles for every 10°C reduction in ambient temperature
  • Leakage current increases after long-term storage; higher storage temperatures accelerate this increase; store in a proper environment; leakage current decreases after voltage application; if elevated leakage current adversely affects the circuit, perform a voltage conditioning process before use
  • Not suitable for frequent charge/discharge circuits; capacitance may decrease due to oxidation of the negative electrode oxide film, or damage may occur from heat generated during charge/discharge cycles
  • Improper mounting or mechanical stress on leads may damage the internal structure, resulting in high leakage current or electrolyte leakage
  • During solder dipping or soldering, the sleeve may crack or undergo secondary shrinkage if soldering time is too long or temperature is too high
  • Do not clean aluminum electrolytic capacitors with halogenated organic solvents; if cleaning is necessary, use a cleaner that will not compromise capacitor quality; do not store in cleaning solution or sealed containers after cleaning; dry cleaned capacitors together with the PCB in hot air for at least 10 minutes; hot air temperature must not exceed the upper temperature limit of the capacitor
  • Do not use adhesives or coating agents containing halogenated organic compounds; do not allow adhesives or coating agents to completely seal the vent/end of the capacitor
  • Recommended storage: 5–35°C, relative humidity below 75%RH, no direct sunlight; shelf life from date of manufacture is 12 months; electrical characteristics and solderability must be verified if storage exceeds 12 months
