The AD70/015 is a complete analog front end suitable for high-precision bridge sensor applications such as electronic scales, incorporating a 24-bit Σ-Δ ADC. The on-chip instrumentation amplifier features a fixed gain of 128, enabling direct input of small signals from bridge sensors and similar sources; the device provides a differential input. During each data read operation, 8 status bits are appended to the 24-bit conversion result; these status bits contain a code sequence that can be used to verify the validity of serial transmissions. The device offers two filter response options: the filter response at a 16.7 Hz update rate delivers excellent dynamic performance with a settling time of 120 ms; the filter response at a 10 Hz update rate provides stopband attenuation better than -45 dB, helping to suppress low-frequency mechanical vibrations from load cells. Both rates support simultaneous 50 Hz/60 Hz rejection using the internal clock. The AD70/015 operates from a 2.7 V to 5.25 V supply with a typical power consumption of 380 µA, and is available in a 14-lead narrow-body SOIC package.
