Overview
HR9110 is a single-channel H-bridge driver IC designed for DC motor applications. The H-bridge drive section of HR9110 uses low on-resistance PMOS and NMOS power transistors. The low on-resistance ensures minimal power dissipation, allowing the IC to operate safely for extended periods. In addition, HR9110 features low standby current and low quiescent current. These characteristics make HR9110 well-suited for toy applications. HR9110 incorporates an internal over-temperature shutdown protection. When the load motor has low impedance or the output is short-circuited, the output current of HR9110 rises sharply, causing the internal temperature to rise rapidly as well. When the chip temperature exceeds the maximum temperature threshold (typical 150°C), HR9110 shuts down all outputs to prevent potential safety hazards. The drive circuit is re-enabled by the built-in thermal hysteresis only after the chip has returned to a safe operating temperature.
