ISO7021FDR

The ISO7021 device is an ultra-low-power dual-channel digital isolator that can be used to isolate CMOS or LVCMOS digital I/Os. The logic input and output buffers of each isolation channel are isolated by a double-capacitor silicon dioxide (SiO₂) insulating gate. The innovative edge-based architecture combined with the on-off keying modulation scheme enables these isolators to have very low power consumption while meeting the 3000Vᵣₘₛ isolation rating specified by UL1577. The dynamic current consumption of each channel of this device is less than 120μA/Mbps, and the static current consumption of each channel at 3.3V is 4.8μA, allowing the ISO7021 to be used in system designs with limited power consumption and thermal performance. This device can operate with a supply voltage as low as 1.71V and as high as 5.5V, and can achieve full functionality with different supply voltages on each side of the isolation barrier. The dual-channel isolator is available in a narrow-body 8-SOIC package with one forward channel and one reverse channel. This device has options for default output high and low levels. If there is a loss of input power or signal, the ISO7021 device without the F suffix defaults to a high output, and the ISO7021F device with the F suffix defaults to a low output.
