ISO7840FDWWR

The ISO7840x device is a high-performance quad-channel digital isolator with an isolation voltage of 8000V_PK. This device has received enhanced isolation certification compliant with VDE, CSA, CQC, and TUV standards. When isolating CMOS or LVCMOS digital I/O, the isolator provides high electromagnetic immunity and low emissions while maintaining low power consumption. Each isolation channel features a logic input and output buffer separated by a silicon dioxide (SiO₂) insulating barrier. The device includes an enable pin that can be used to place the corresponding outputs in a high-impedance state in multi-master driver applications, or to reduce power consumption. The ISO7840 device has 4 forward channels and 0 reverse channels. In the event of input power or signal loss, the ISO7840 device defaults to a high output, while the ISO7840F device defaults to a low output. When used in conjunction with an isolated power supply, the device helps prevent noise currents on data buses or other circuits from entering the local ground and interfering with or damaging sensitive circuitry. Through innovative chip design and routing techniques, the EMC performance of the ISO7840 device is significantly enhanced, ensuring system-level ESD, EFT, and surge protection while meeting radiated emissions standards. The ISO7840 device is available in 16-pin SOIC wide-body (DW) and extra-wide-body (DWW) packages.
