Overview

The LMZ10505 power module is a complete and easy-to-use DC/DC solution that can drive loads up to 5A and features excellent power conversion efficiency, output voltage accuracy, line and load regulation. It uses an innovative package that improves thermal performance and supports manual or machine soldering. It can accept input voltage rails in the range of 2.95V to 5.5V and provides a highly accurate adjustable output voltage as low as 0.8V. The 1 MHz fixed-frequency PWM switch has predictable EMI characteristics. Two external compensation components are adjusted to set the fastest response time and allow the selection of ceramic or electrolytic output capacitors. An externally programmable soft-start capacitor facilitates control of the startup process. It is a stable and reliable solution with the following features: lossless cycle-by-cycle peak current limit for protection against overcurrent or short-circuit faults, thermal shutdown, input under-voltage lockout, and pre-biased startup.
