The LMZ30606 SIMPLE SWITCHER power module is an easy-to-use integrated power solution that combines a 6A DC/DC converter with a power metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET), a shielded inductor, and passive components in a half-height QFN package. This complete power solution requires only three external components and eliminates the loop compensation and magnetic component selection processes. The 9mm×11mm×2.8mm QFN package can be easily soldered to the printed circuit board, enabling a compact point-of-load design with an efficiency of over 90% and excellent power dissipation with a thermal impedance from junction to ambient of only 12°C/W. The device can provide a full 6A output current at an ambient temperature of 85°C with no airflow. The LMZ30606 offers the flexibility and feature set of a discrete point-of-load design, making it ideal for powering high-performance DSPs and FPGAs. Advanced packaging technology provides a durable and reliable power solution compatible with standard QFN mounting and testing techniques.
