MSLR8N8

Top-Best IC MSLR8xx is a high-voltage, low-output-current, adjustable linear regulator. It features a wide operating input voltage range of 13.2 - 450V. As long as the input voltage is at least 12V higher than the output voltage, the output voltage can be adjusted from 1.20 - 440V. The output voltage is adjustable via two external resistors R1 and R2, as shown in the typical application circuit. The MSLR8xx regulates the voltage difference between the VOUT and ADJ pins to a nominal value of 1.20V. The 1.20V is amplified by the external resistor ratio R1 and R2. Typically, a 10μA current is connected to the ADJ pin. This adds a constant voltage of 10μA multiplied by R2 to the internal constant bias of VOUT. The MSLR8xx features current limiting and temperature limiting. The output current limit is typically 20mA, with a minimum temperature limit of 125°C. Therefore, the output short-circuit current will be limited to 20mA. When the junction temperature reaches the temperature limit, the output current and/or output voltage will be reduced to prevent the junction temperature from exceeding its limit. For switching power supply start-up circuit applications, when an external voltage greater than the MSLR8xx output voltage is applied to the VOUT of the MSLR8xx, the MSLR8xx will shut down. To maintain stability, a bypass capacitor of 1.0μF or greater and a minimum DC output current of 500μA are required. The device is available in SOT-89, TO-252 (D-PAK), and TO-92 packages.
