The SN74LVC541A-EP is an octal buffer/driver designed for 2.7V to 3.6V VCC operation. The device is suitable for driving bus lines or buffering memory address registers. The inputs and outputs are arranged on opposite sides of the package to facilitate PCB layout. The 3-state control gate is a 2-input AND gate with active-low inputs, so if either output enable (OE1 or OE2) input is high, all eight outputs will be in the high-impedance state. Inputs can be driven by 3.3V or 5V devices, allowing this device to be used as a level translator in mixed 3.3V/5V systems. The device is fully specified for partial-power-down applications using Ioff; the Ioff circuit disables the outputs to prevent damaging backflow current when the device is powered down. To ensure the high-impedance state is maintained during power-up or power-down, OE should be connected to VCC through a pullup resistor; the minimum resistor value is determined by the current-sinking capability of the driver.
