This octal bus transceiver is designed for 2.7 V to 3.6 V VCC operation. The SN74LVCZ245A is designed for asynchronous communication between data buses. The device transmits data from the A bus to the B bus or from the B bus to the A bus, depending on the logic level of the direction control (DIR) input. The device can be disabled using the output-enable (OE) input to effectively isolate the buses. Inputs can be driven by 3.3 V or 5 V devices. This feature allows the device to be used as a translator in mixed 3.3 V/5 V system environments. When VCC is between 0 V and 1.5 V, the device is in a high-impedance state during power-up or power-down. To ensure the high-impedance state is maintained above 1.5 V, OE must be connected to VCC through a pull-up resistor; the minimum resistance value is determined by the current-sinking capability of the driver. The device fully meets the specifications for hot-insertion applications through the Ioff and power-up 3-state features. The Ioff circuit disables the outputs to prevent damaging reverse current flow when the device is powered down. The power-up 3-state circuit places the outputs in a high-impedance state during power-up and power-down, thereby avoiding driver conflict.
