The TCAN1472-Q1 is a high-speed CAN SIC transceiver that meets the physical layer requirements of the Signal Improvement Capability (SIC) specification defined in ISO 11898-2:2024 Annex A. The device reduces signal ringing on dominant-to-recessive edges, enabling higher throughput in complex network topologies. SIC allows applications to operate at 2Mbps, 5Mbps, or higher data rates in large networks with multiple unterminated stubs, delivering the practical benefits of CAN FD. The device meets the timing specifications required by the ISO 11898-2:2024 Annex A SIC specification, providing stricter bit timing symmetry compared to conventional CAN FD transceivers. This offers a larger timing window for sampling the correct bit, enabling error-free communication in large, complex star networks with inherent ringing and bit distortion. The TCAN1472-Q1 devices with the 'V' suffix support internal logic level shifting via the VIO logic supply pin, allowing direct interfacing with 1.8V, 2.5V, or 3.3V controllers. The transceiver supports a low-power standby mode, allowing remote wake-up via the CAN bus using the Wake-Up Pattern (WUP) defined in ISO 11898-2:2024. The device family also includes multiple protection features, including undervoltage detection, thermal shutdown (TSD), driver dominant timeout (TXD DTO), and ±58V bus fault protection.
