The TLV1117LV low-dropout (LDO) linear regulator is a low input voltage version of the popular TLV1117 regulator. The TLV1117LV is an ultra-low power device with a quiescent current 500 times lower than conventional 1117 regulators, making it ideal for designs targeting applications that require ultra-low standby current. The TLV1117LV LDO also maintains stability at 0mA load current; with no minimum load requirement, the device is well suited for applications that must supply very light loads during standby while delivering up to approximately 1A of high current during normal operation. The TLV1117LV delivers excellent line and load transient performance, producing minimal output voltage undershoot and overshoot when load current requirements step from below 1mA to above 500mA. A high-accuracy bandgap and error amplifier enables 1.5% accuracy. With an ultra-high power supply rejection ratio (PSRR), the device is suitable for post-regulation of switching regulators. Additional key features include low output noise and low dropout voltage. The device is internally compensated for stability with 0Ω ESR capacitors, enabling the use of low-cost, small ceramic capacitors. Low-cost capacitors with higher bias voltage and temperature derating can also be used when necessary. The TLV1117LV is available in a SOT-223 package.
