Overview

The TPS791 device is a low-dropout (LDO) low-power linear regulator featuring high power supply rejection ratio (PSRR), ultralow noise, fast startup, and excellent line and load transient response, housed in a compact SOT23 package. The device achieves stable operation using a small 1μF ceramic output capacitor. Utilizing an advanced proprietary BiCMOS process, the TPS791 delivers ultralow dropout voltage (e.g., 38mV at 100mA for the TPS79147). The device provides fast startup time (approximately 63μs with a 0.001μF bypass capacitor) while consuming very low quiescent current (170μA typical). Furthermore, when in standby mode, supply current is reduced to below 1μA. The TPS79118 achieves an output voltage noise of approximately 15μV_RMS with a 0.1μF bypass capacitor. Applications with noise-sensitive analog components, such as portable RF electronics, will benefit from the high PSRR, low noise characteristics, and fast response time.
