The TPS7A26 Low Dropout (LDO) linear regulator supports an input voltage range of 2.4V to 18V and features extremely low quiescent current (I₀). These features better assist modern appliances in meeting increasingly stringent energy requirements and help extend the battery life of portable power solutions. The TPS7A26 is available in both fixed-voltage and adjustable-voltage versions. For greater flexibility or higher output voltages, the adjustable-voltage version uses feedback resistors to set the output voltage from 1.24V to 17.4V. Both versions have an output regulation accuracy of 1%, enabling precise regulation of the microcontroller (MCU) reference voltage. With an open-drain Power Good (PG) output, the device can provide a reset to the MCU or perform wire-OR and level shifting with other open-drain PGs to provide system-wide PG or reset. At a current of 500mA, the TPS7A26 LDO has a maximum dropout voltage of less than 590mV, making it more efficient than standard linear regulators. This maximum dropout voltage allows the device to achieve an output voltage (VOUT) of 5.0V from an input voltage (VIN) of 5.7V, resulting in an efficiency of 87.7%.
