TPS7B4255-Q1 is a low-dropout (LDO) voltage tracking regulator featuring high tracking accuracy and excellent load and line transient response. The device is available in two 5-pin SOT-23 packages (DBV and DYB). The TPS7B4255-Q1 is designed to power off-board sensors in automotive applications such as powertrain systems. Due to the elevated risk of cable faults when delivering off-board power, the device integrates protection against fault conditions including reverse current (battery short circuit), reverse polarity, output-to-ground short circuit (current limiting), and overtemperature (thermal shutdown). The device is designed to handle up to 45V (absolute maximum) input voltage and can withstand automotive load dump transient conditions. The reference voltage applied at the ADJ/EN pin is accurately tracked at the OUT pin with minimal tolerance, supporting loads up to 70mA. As a result, the TPS7B4255-Q1 can supply off-board sensors with a high-accuracy power supply voltage, helping to improve the reliability and accuracy of measurements using ratiometric sensors. By pulling the ADJ/EN input pin low, the TPS7B4255-Q1 enters standby mode, reducing the LDO quiescent current to less than 3.25μA.
