The TPSM82851x is a family of pin-compatible 0.5A, 1A, and 2A high-efficiency, easy-to-use synchronous step-down DC/DC power modules with integrated inductors. These devices are based on a fixed-frequency peak current mode control topology, suitable for telecom, test and measurement, and medical applications where power density and ease of use are critical. Low-resistance switches allow continuous output current up to 2A at high ambient temperatures. The switching frequency is internally fixed at 2.25MHz and can also be synchronized to an external clock from 1.8MHz to 4MHz. In PFM/PWM mode, the TPSM82851x automatically enters power save mode at light loads to maintain high efficiency across the full load range. The TPSM82851x provides 1% feedback voltage accuracy in PWM mode, facilitating the design of power supplies with high output voltage accuracy. The SS/TR pin sets the startup time or tracks the output voltage to an external source. This feature enables external sequencing of different power rails and limits inrush current during startup.
