Overview
The UCD9090A is a 10-rail PMBus/I2C addressable power sequencer and monitor. The device integrates a 12-bit ADC to monitor up to 10 power voltage inputs. There are 23 GPIO pins in total, which can be used for power enable, power-on reset signals, external interrupts, cascading, or other system functions. Ten of these GPIO pins provide PWM functionality. Using these pins, the UCD9090A supports margining and general-purpose PWM functions. Specific power states can be achieved using the pin-selected voltage rail status feature. This feature allows up to 3 GPIs to enable and disable any voltage rail. This is useful for implementing system low-power modes and for the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) specification for hardware devices. The TI Fusion Digital Power Designer software is used for device configuration. This PC-based GUI provides an intuitive interface for configuring, storing, and monitoring all system operating parameters.
