Overview

The ADP2118 is a low quiescent current, synchronous, step-down DC-DC regulator housed in a compact 4mm×4mm LFCSP_WQ package. It employs a current-mode, constant-frequency PWM control scheme, delivering excellent stability and transient response. Under light loads, the ADP2118 can be configured to operate in PFM mode to reduce switching frequency and minimize power consumption. The ADP2118 operates from a 2.3V to 5.5V input voltage. The ADP2118ACPZ-R7 offers an adjustable output voltage ranging from 0.6V to VIN, while the ADP2118ACPZ-X.X-R7 provides multiple preset output voltage options: 3.3V, 2.5V, 1.8V, 1.5V, 1.2V, and 1.0V. The ADP2118 requires minimal external components and delivers a high-efficiency solution with integrated power switches, synchronous rectifier, and internal compensation. The IC draws less than 3μA from the input supply when disabled. Additional key features include UVLO, integrated soft-start to limit inrush current during startup, OVP, OCP, and TSD. The ADP2118 is a step-down DC-DC regulator based on a fixed-frequency, peak current-mode architecture with integrated high-side switch and low-side synchronous rectifier. The high switching frequency and compact 16-pin, 4mm×4mm LFCSP_WQ package enable a small-footprint step-down DC-DC regulator solution. The integrated high-side switch (P-channel MOSFET) and synchronous rectifier (N-channel MOSFET) achieve high efficiency at medium-to-full load, while light-load efficiency is enhanced through PFM mode. The ADP2118 operates from a 2.3V to 5.5V input voltage with output voltage adjustable down to 0.6V. The ADP2118 offers multiple preset output voltage options: 3.3V, 2.5V, 1.8V, 1.5V, 1.2V, and 1.0V.
