The output voltage range of the adjustable version is from 1.23V to 37V (57V for the high-voltage version), with a maximum tolerance of ±4% under line and load conditions. The rated output current is 0.5A, and it has a wide input voltage range of 40V, which can reach 60V for the high-voltage version. It only requires 4 external components and features a 52kHz fixed-frequency internal oscillator. It has a TTL shutdown function, a low-power standby mode, high efficiency, uses off-the-shelf standard inductors, and provides thermal shutdown and current limit protection. Use the LM2574 and the WEBENCH Power Designer to create custom designs. The LM2574xx series of regulators are monolithic integrated circuits that provide all the necessary functions for a step-down switching regulator, can drive a 0.5A load, and offer excellent line and load regulation performance. These devices are available in 3.3V, 5V, 12V, 15V, and adjustable output versions. Requiring a minimal number of external components, these regulators are easy to use and feature internal frequency compensation and a fixed-frequency oscillator. The LM2574xx series products offer a highly efficient alternative to commonly used three-terminal linear regulators. Due to their high efficiency, usually only the copper traces on the printed circuit board (PCB) are needed for heat dissipation. Several different manufacturers offer a range of optimized standard inductors that can be used with the LM2574. This feature greatly simplifies the design of switching mode power supplies. Other features include a rated output voltage tolerance of ±4% and an oscillator frequency tolerance of ±10% under rated input voltage and output load conditions. It has an external shutdown function and a standby current of 50μA (typical). The output switch has cycle-by-cycle current limiting and a thermal shutdown function that provides full protection under fault conditions.
