LM2734XMKX/NOPB

The LM2734 regulator is a high-efficiency PWM step-down DC/DC converter in a 6-pin thin SOT package. The device provides all the active functions necessary to deliver local DC/DC conversion with fast transient response and precise regulation in the smallest possible PCB footprint. The LM2734 regulator is easy to use, requiring minimal external components and offering online design support through WEBENCH. The device drives 1A loads via an internal 300mΩ NMOS switch fabricated in advanced 0.5μm BiCMOS technology, achieving optimal power density. Best-in-class control circuitry enables on-times as low as 13ns, supporting very high-frequency conversion across the full 3V to 20V input operating range with a minimum output voltage of 0.8V. The switching frequency is internally set to 550kHz (LM2734Y) or 1.6MHz (LM2734X), allowing the use of extremely small surface-mount inductors and chip capacitors. Despite the high operating frequency, efficiency of up to 90% is readily achievable. An external shutdown feature provides an ultra-low standby current of 30nA. The LM2734 regulator uses current-mode control with internal compensation to deliver high-performance regulation across a wide range of operating conditions. Additional features include an internal soft-start circuit to reduce inrush current, cycle-by-cycle current limiting, thermal shutdown, and output overvoltage protection.
