The LM284x-Q1 SIMPLE SWITCHER devices are PWM DC/DC buck regulators. These devices feature an input range of 4.5V to 42V, making them suitable for a wide variety of applications (e.g., power regulation from unregulated sources). They incorporate low R_DSON (typical 0.9Ω) internal switches to achieve maximum efficiency (typical 85%). In addition, they offer fixed operating frequencies of 550kHz (X option) and 1.25MHz (Y option), enabling small external components while ensuring low output voltage ripple. Soft-start can be implemented by combining the shutdown (SHDN) pin with an external RC circuit, allowing users to adjust the soft-start time for specific applications. The LM2840-Q1 is optimized for load currents up to 100mA, the LM2841-Q1 up to 300mA, and the LM2842-Q1 up to 600mA. All devices feature a nominal feedback voltage of 0.765V. Additional features include thermal shutdown, VIN undervoltage lockout, and gate drive undervoltage lockout. All LM284x-Q1 devices are available in a low-profile SOT-6L package.
