The LM5164-Q1 synchronous buck converter is designed for regulation across a wide input voltage range, minimizing the need for external surge suppression components. A 50ns minimum controllable on-time enables high step-down ratios, supporting direct conversion from a 48V nominal input to low-voltage rails, reducing system complexity and solution cost. The LM5164-Q1 can continue operating at near 100% duty cycle as needed when the input voltage drops to 6V, making it well-suited for high-performance 48V automotive battery applications and MHEV/EV systems. The LM5164-Q1 features integrated high-side and low-side power MOSFETs, delivering up to 1A of output current. The constant on-time (COT) control architecture provides near-constant switching frequency with excellent load and line transient response. Additional features of the LM5164-Q1 include ultra-low IQ and diode emulation mode operation for high light-load efficiency, innovative peak and valley overcurrent protection, integrated VCC bias supply and bootstrap diode, precision enable and input UVLO, and thermal shutdown protection with auto-recovery. An open-drain PGOOD indicator supports sequencing, fault reporting, and output voltage monitoring. The LM5164-Q1 is AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualified and available in an 8-pin SO PowerPAD package. Its 1.27mm pin pitch provides sufficient spacing for high-voltage reliability.
