The LM5165-Q1 is an easy-to-use, compact 3V to 65V ultra-low IQ synchronous buck converter that delivers high efficiency over a wide input voltage and load current range. The device features integrated high-side and low-side power MOSFETs, capable of providing up to 150mA of output current at a fixed 3.3V or 5V output voltage or an adjustable output voltage. The converter is designed to simplify implementation while optimizing performance for the target application. PFM mode ensures optimal efficiency under light-load conditions, and COT control achieves a near-constant operating frequency. Both control schemes require no loop compensation, while enabling excellent line and load transient response and short PWM on-times for high step-down conversion ratios. The high-side P-channel MOSFET supports 100% duty cycle operation to ensure minimum dropout voltage, eliminating the need for a bootstrap capacitor for gate drive. In addition, the current limit setpoint can be adjusted to optimize inductor selection for specific output current requirements. Selectable and adjustable startup sequencing options include minimum delay (no soft-start), internal fixed value (900µs), and external capacitor-programmable soft-start. An open-drain PGOOD indicator is available for sequencing, fault reporting, and output voltage monitoring. The LM5165-Q1 is AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualified and is available in a 10-pin VSON and VSSOP package with 0.5mm pin pitch.
