The LM53603 and LM53602 step-down regulators are designed for 12V industrial and automotive applications, delivering 3.3V/3A or 10V/2A output from input voltages up to 36V. With input voltages up to 20V, the devices utilize advanced high-speed circuitry to regulate while providing a 5V output at a 2.1MHz switching frequency. The innovative architecture enables a regulated 3.3V output even with an input voltage as low as 3.5V. The input voltage rating of up to 36V with a maximum transient voltage tolerance of 42V simplifies input surge protection design. The open-drain reset output with filtering and delay provides accurate system status indication, eliminating the need for additional supervisory components and saving cost and board space. The device seamlessly transitions between PWM and PFM modes, with a no-load operating current of only 24μA, ensuring high efficiency and excellent transient response across all load conditions.
