The LMR14020-Q1 is a 40V, 2A step-down regulator with an integrated high-side MOSFET. Its wide input voltage range of 4V to 40V makes it suitable for regulating power from unregulated supplies across applications ranging from industrial to automotive. An extended family of pin-to-pin compatible devices offers 3.5A and 5A current options. The regulator's 40µA quiescent current in sleep mode makes it ideal for battery-powered systems, while its ultra-low 1µA shutdown current further extends battery life. A wide adjustable switching frequency range allows optimization of efficiency or external component size. Internal loop compensation eliminates the tedious task of designing loop compensation components while minimizing the number of external components. A precision enable input simplifies regulator control and system power sequencing. The device also integrates multiple protection features: cycle-by-cycle current limiting, thermal sensing and thermal shutdown for excessive power dissipation, and output overvoltage protection. The LMR14020-Q1 is available in an 8-pin HSOIC or 10-pin WSON package with an exposed pad for low thermal resistance.
