Overview

LMR36506-Q1 is the industry's smallest 65V, 0.6A synchronous step-down DC/DC converter, housed in a 2mm×2mm HotRod package. This easy-to-use converter handles input voltage transients up to 70V, delivers excellent EMI performance, and supports fixed 3.3V, 5V, and other adjustable output voltages. The LMR36506-Q1 employs a peak current mode control architecture with internal compensation, maintaining stable operation with minimal output capacitance. Its wide input operating range helps sustain functionality during deep input voltage droops, making it ideal for automotive applications subject to severe cold-crank pulses. The PGOOD flag in the LMR36506-Q1 accurately indicates output voltage status without requiring an external monitor. Seamless transition between FPWM and PFM modes, combined with ultra-low standby quiescent current, enables higher system efficiency at light output loads. The MODE/SYNC pin variant facilitates synchronization of the LMR36506-Q1 to an external clock. By selecting an appropriate resistor, the RT pin variant of the LMR36506-Q1 can also be externally programmed to any desired switching frequency. The rich feature set of the LMR36506-Q1 is designed to simplify application design across a wide range of automotive end equipment.
