The LMS3655 synchronous buck regulator is optimized for high-performance applications, offering an adjustable output of 1V to 20V. Seamless transitions between PWM and PFM modes, combined with low quiescent current, ensure high efficiency and excellent transient response across all load conditions. Advanced high-speed circuitry enables the LMS3655 to regulate a 24V input to a 3.3V output (400kHz fixed frequency) while supporting a continuous load current of 5.5A. The innovative frequency foldback architecture allows the device to generate a 3.3V output from an input voltage as low as 3.5V. An input voltage range up to 36V with transient tolerance up to 42V simplifies input surge protection design. The open-drain reset output features built-in filtering and delay, providing accurate system status indication. This eliminates the need for additional supervisory components, saving cost and board space.
