Overview

The OPA137 series FET-input op amps are designed for low-cost and compact applications. In addition to their small footprint (SOT-23-5 and MSOP-8 packages), they offer low input bias current (5pA), low quiescent current (220μA/channel), and high open-loop gain (94dB). They can operate from a single supply (+4.5V to +36V) or dual supplies (±2.25V to ±18V). The input common-mode voltage range includes the positive rail — suitable for many single-supply applications. Single, dual, and quad versions share identical specifications for maximum design flexibility. The OPA137 op amps are easy to use, free from the phase reversal and overload issues common to some FET-input amplifiers. High performance, including linearity, is maintained even when the amplifier reaches its specified limits. Furthermore, the combination of high slew rate (3.5V/μs) and wide bandwidth (1MHz) provides fast settling time, ensuring excellent dynamic response. The dual and quad designs use fully independent circuitry for minimum crosstalk and freedom from interaction. The single-channel (OPA137) package options include the tiny 5-pin SOT-23-5 surface-mount, SO-8 surface-mount, and 8-pin DIP. The dual-channel (OPA2137) is available in miniature MSOP-8 surface-mount, SO-8 surface-mount, and 8-pin DIP packages. The quad-channel (OPA4137) is offered in SO-14 surface-mount and 14-pin DIP packages. All versions are specified over the −40°C to +85°C temperature range and are rated for operation from −55°C to +125°C. SPICE macromodels are available for design analysis.
