The OPTIREG linear voltage regulator TLS850A4TEV50 is a high-performance, low-dropout, ultra-low quiescent current linear regulator. With a typical quiescent current of only 4.3μA at light load and an input voltage range of 3.7V to 40V, this device is ideally suited for automotive power supply systems or other power supply systems permanently connected to a battery. The loop concept combines fast regulation with extremely high stability while requiring only a single 4.7μF small ceramic capacitor at the output. Operation begins from a 3.7V input voltage (extended operating range), making this device suitable for automotive systems that need to operate under start-up conditions. Internal protection features, such as output current limiting and over-temperature shutdown, are designed to protect the device from direct damage caused by faults such as output short-circuit to ground, overcurrent conditions, and over-temperature conditions. The thermally enhanced package enables the device to operate continuously even under significant power dissipation.
