Overview
The TLV8801 (single-channel) and TLV8802 (dual-channel) ultra-low power op amp family are ideal for cost-optimized sensing applications in wireless and low-power wired devices. They minimize power consumption in battery-operated devices where runtime is critical, such as CO detectors, smoke detectors, and motion-detection security systems (e.g., PIR motion sensing). The CMOS input stage is carefully designed to achieve ultra-low picoampere-level currents, reducing IBIAS and IOS errors that would otherwise affect sensitive applications — such as transimpedance amplifier (TIA) configurations with megaohm-range feedback resistors and high source-impedance sensing applications. In addition, the built-in EMI protection reduces device susceptibility to unintended RF signals from cell phones, WiFi, wireless transmitters, and tag readers. The TLV8801 (single-channel) and TLV8802 (dual-channel) versions are available in industry-standard 5-pin SOT-23 and 8-pin VSSOP packages, respectively.
