The TPS54061-Q1 is a 60V, 200mA synchronous step-down dc-dc converter with integrated high-side and low-side MOSFETs. Current-mode control simplifies external compensation and provides flexible component selection. Non-switching supply current is 90μA. Use of the enable pin reduces shutdown current to 1.4μA. To improve light-load efficiency, the low-side MOSFET emulates a diode when inductor current reaches zero. The internal UVLO threshold is set at 4.5V, but can be increased using two resistors on the enable pin. An internal soft-start function controls the output voltage ramp-up during startup. The adjustable switching frequency range enables optimization of efficiency and external component size. Frequency foldback and thermal shutdown protect the device under overload conditions. The TPS54061-Q1 achieves a compact design by integrating the MOSFETs and boot recharge diode, while reducing the IC package size to a small 3mm×3mm thermally enhanced VSON package.
