TPS54334 is a 28V, 3A, low quiescent current (IQ) synchronous monolithic step-down converter with integrated MOSFETs. It reduces external component count by integrating MOSFETs and implementing current-mode control, enabling compact designs. The device maximizes efficiency through integrated 128mΩ/84mΩ MOSFETs, low quiescent current, and pulse skipping under light load conditions. The device can enter shutdown mode via the enable pin, reducing shutdown supply current to 2μA. The TPS54334 reference voltage maintains 1.5% accuracy over the full temperature range, providing precise regulation for various loads. Cycle-by-cycle current limiting on the high-side FET protects the TPS54334 under overload conditions, with enhanced functionality through low-side power current limiting to prevent current runaway. A low-side sink current limit that turns off the low-side MOSFET is also provided to prevent excessive reverse current. A hiccup protection feature is triggered when an overcurrent condition persists beyond a preset duration. When the die temperature exceeds the thermal shutdown temperature, the overtemperature hiccup protection feature disables the device and re-enables it after a built-in hiccup time.
