As a member of the SWIFT family of DC/DC regulators, the TPS54373 low input voltage, high output current synchronous buck PWM converter integrates all necessary active components. Features included on the substrate are: a true high-performance voltage error amplifier for maximum performance and flexible selection of output filter L and C components; undervoltage lockout circuitry to prevent startup until the input voltage reaches 2.95V; an internally or externally set soft-start circuit to limit inrush current; and a power-good output that can be used for processor/logic reset, fault signal propagation, and power sequencing. For reliable startup in pre-biased output applications, the TPS54373 is designed to source current only during startup. The TPS54373 is available in a thermally enhanced 20-pin TSSOP (PWP) PowerPAD package, eliminating the need for bulky heat sinks. TI provides an evaluation module and SWIFT Designer software tool to help quickly achieve high-performance power supply designs that meet aggressive device development schedules.
