The TPS54386-Q1 is a dual-output, non-synchronous buck converter. This converter can support 3A output applications operating within an input power supply voltage range of 4.5V to 28V, and the output voltage is required to be within the range of 0.8V to 90% of the input voltage. With the internally determined operating frequency, soft-start time, and control loop compensation, these converters offer many features while significantly reducing the required external components. The overcurrent protection for Channel 1 is set at 4.5A. However, the overcurrent protection level for Channel 2 can be selected by grounding a pin, connecting it to BP, or leaving it floating. The set level is used to allow the external components to be scaled for applications that do not require the full load capacity of both outputs. The outputs can be enabled independently or configured to support ratio meters or sequential startup sequencing. In addition, the two outputs can also be powered by different power supplies. The TPS54386-Q1 is a dual-output, non-synchronous converter. Each PWM channel contains an internally compensated error amplifier, current-mode pulse-width modulator (PWM), switch MOSFET, enable, and fault - protection circuitry. Common to the two channels are the internal voltage regulator, voltage reference, clock oscillator, and output-voltage sequencing functions.
