The TPS54429E is an adaptive on-time D-CAP2™ mode synchronous buck converter. It helps system designers complete power bus regulator sets for various end equipment with a low-cost, low-component-count solution featuring low standby current. The main control loop uses D-CAP2™ mode control, achieving ultra-fast transient response without external compensation components. Adaptive on-time control enables seamless transition between PWM mode at higher load conditions and Eco-mode™ operation at light loads. Eco-mode™ allows the TPS54429E to maintain high efficiency under light load conditions. In addition, the TPS54429E's proprietary current enables the device to accommodate low ESR output capacitors such as POSCAP and SP-CAP, as well as ultra-low ESR ceramic capacitors. The device operates over a wide input voltage range of 7 V to 18 V. The output voltage is programmable from 0.76 V to 5.5 V. The device also supports adjustable soft-start time and power-good functionality. Available in a 14-pin HTSSOP package and a 16-pin QFN package, with a wide operating temperature range of -20°C to 85°C.
