TPS54678RTER

The TPS54678 device is a fully-featured 6V, 6A synchronous step-down current-mode converter with two integrated MOSFETs. The TPS54678 integrates MOSFETs to enable small designs by reducing external component count through current-mode control implementation, minimizing inductor size by supporting switching frequencies up to 2MHz, and minimizing IC size with a compact 3mm×3mm thermally enhanced WQFN package. The TPS54678 provides accurate regulation for a wide range of loads across the operating temperature range with a precise (±1%) voltage reference (VREF). Efficiency is maximized through integrated 12mΩ MOSFETs. Shutdown supply current is reduced by disabling the device via the enable (EN) pin. The output voltage startup ramp is controlled by the soft-start (SS) pin, which can also be configured to control sequencing or tracking. Monotonic startup is achieved in the presence of a pre-biased output voltage. Undervoltage lockout threshold can be adjusted via a resistor divider on the enable pin. An open-drain power-good signal indicates when the output is within 93% to 105% of its nominal voltage. Cycle-by-cycle current limiting, hiccup overcurrent protection, and thermal shutdown protect the device from damage under overcurrent conditions.
