Overview

TPS566250 is a synchronous buck converter that helps system designers implement a complete set of end-equipment power bus regulators through a cost-effective, low component count, low standby current solution. After initial power-up, the output voltage can be changed by sending codes to the IC via an I²C-compatible VID control bus. The TPS566250 main control loop uses D-CAP2™ mode control, enabling fast transient response without external compensation components. Adaptive on-time control allows the device to seamlessly transition between PWM mode under heavy load conditions and Advanced Eco-mode™ operation under light load conditions. Advanced Eco-mode™ enables the TPS566250 to maintain high efficiency under light load conditions. The TPS566250 is compatible with both low-ESR output capacitors such as POSCAP or SP-CAP, and ultra-low-ESR ceramic capacitors. The device provides on-chip overcurrent, UVLO, and thermal shutdown protection.
