The TPS61178x family are 20V synchronous boost converters with an integrated gate driver for load disconnect functionality. The TPS61178x integrates two low on-resistance power FETs: a 16mΩ switch FET and a 16mΩ rectifier FET. The TPS61178x uses fixed-frequency peak current mode control with integrated slope compensation. Under light load, the TPS61178 enters automatic PFM mode, while the TPS611781 operates in forced PWM mode. The TPS61178x can isolate the output from the input side during shutdown. Upon output short circuit, it enters hiccup mode to reduce thermal stress and automatically recovers after the short circuit is removed. In addition, the TPS61178x features OVP and overtemperature protection to prevent fault operation. The TPS61178x is available in a 3.0mm x 3.5mm 13-pin VQFN package with enhanced thermal dissipation performance.
