TPS61230ARNST

The TPS61230A is a high-efficiency, fully integrated synchronous boost converter. The device integrates 6A, 21mΩ and 18mΩ power switches. When powered from a 2.5V input supply, the switches can deliver up to 2.4A output current at 5V output. With low RDS_ON switches, the device achieves up to 96% power conversion efficiency, minimizing thermal stress in a compact package. The typical operating frequency of 1.15MHz allows the use of small inductors and capacitors for a compact solution size. The TPS61230A provides an adjustable output voltage via an external resistor divider. Under light load conditions, the TPS61230A automatically enters PFM operation mode to maximize efficiency at minimal quiescent current. During shutdown, pulling the EN pin to logic low completely disconnects the load from the input, reducing input current consumption to below 1.0μA. The device enters hiccup protection mode during output short circuit and automatically recovers once the short circuit is removed. Additional features such as output overvoltage protection and thermal shutdown protection are integrated. The device is available in a 2.00mm×2.00mm×0.9mm VQFN package, requiring minimal external components.
