The TPS62097 device is a synchronous buck converter optimized for high-efficiency and noise-sensitive applications. It is primarily designed for high-efficiency conversion across a wide output current range. The converter operates in PWM mode under moderate-to-heavy load conditions and automatically enters a power-save mode under light loads. The switching frequency can be selected between 1.5MHz and 2.5MHz using an external resistor. iDCS-Control enables low-noise operation at a constant switching frequency in forced PWM mode. To address system power rail requirements, the internal compensation circuit supports a wide range of external output capacitors with capacitance values above 150μF. To control inrush current during startup, the device provides programmable soft-start via an external capacitor connected to the SS/TR pin. The SS/TR pin can also be used in voltage tracking configurations. The device also integrates short-circuit protection, power-good, and thermal shutdown features. It is available in a 2mm x 2mm VQFN package.
