The TPS62147 and TPS62148 are high-efficiency, easy-to-use synchronous step-down DC/DC converters based on DCS-Control™ topology. Their wide input voltage range of 3V to 17V makes them suitable for multi-cell Li-ion batteries and 12V intermediate power rails. The devices provide 2A continuous output current. They automatically enter power-save mode at light loads to maintain high efficiency across the entire load range. This feature makes the devices well-suited for applications requiring always-on standby performance, such as industrial computers and video surveillance. When the MODE pin is set low, the device automatically adjusts switching frequency based on output current and input/output voltages. This technology, called Automatic Efficiency Enhancement (AEE™), maintains high conversion efficiency across the entire operating range. The TPS62147 and TPS62148 provide 1% output voltage accuracy in PWM mode, enabling power supply designs with high output voltage precision. The FSEL pin allows selection of either 1.25MHz or 2.5MHz switching frequency in forced PWM mode. Typical quiescent current is 18μA. In shutdown mode, typical current is 1μA. The device is available in an adjustable version in a 3mm x 2mm VQFN package.
