The TPS6217x device family is an easy-to-use synchronous step-down DC-DC converter optimized for high power density applications. The switching frequency of this device family is typically up to 2.25MHz, allowing the use of small inductors, providing fast transient response and high output voltage accuracy by utilizing DCS-Control™ topology. This device family features a wide operating input voltage range of 3V to 17V, making it ideal for systems powered by lithium-ion or other batteries and 12V intermediate power rails. The output voltage ranges from 0.9V to 6V, supporting a continuous output current of up to 0.5A (using 100% duty cycle mode). Power sequencing can also be implemented by configuring the enable pin and open-drain power-good pin. In power save mode, the device generates a quiescent current of approximately 17μA based on the input voltage (VIN). The device automatically and seamlessly enters power save mode at light loads, maintaining high efficiency across the entire load range. The device is in shutdown state during shutdown mode, with a current consumption of less than 2μA. TPS6217x devices are rated for an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C in a free-air environment. These devices are available in adjustable and fixed output voltage versions. This device family is offered in a 2mm×2mm, 8-pin WSON package (DSG).
