TPS62480RNCR

The TPS62480 is a synchronous dual-phase step-down DC-DC converter designed for thin point-of-load power supplies. The input voltage range is 2.4V to 5.5V, supporting operation from typical 3.3V or 5V bus supplies as well as backup circuits down to 2.4V. Output current reaches up to 6A (delivered continuously by two phases at 3A per phase), enabling the use of thin external components. The two power rails operate 180° out of phase, significantly reducing pulsed current noise. The device automatically enters power-save mode under ultra-light loads to maintain high efficiency, with automatic phase adding/shedding based on actual load conditions. Features include a power-good signal, adjustable soft-start, and a thermal-good signal for detecting excessive internal temperature. The output voltage can be changed to a pre-selected value via the VSEL pin, and the device supports 100% duty cycle operation. Available in a compact 3mm×2.5mm HotRod package (RNC).
