TPS62746 is a high-efficiency step-down converter with an ultra-low quiescent current of typically 360nA. The device is optimized to operate with a 2.2µH inductor and 10µF output capacitor. It employs DCS-Control™ technology with a typical switching frequency of 1.2MHz. In power-save mode, the device extends light-load efficiency down to 10µA load current and below. The TPS62746 delivers 300mA output current. After startup, the device operates at input voltages as low as 2.0V, enabling direct operation from a single Li-MnO₂ coin cell battery. The TPS62746 offers two programmable output voltages (1.2V and 1.8V), selectable via a voltage selection pin. The TPS62746 is optimized to achieve low output voltage ripple and low noise with a single small output capacitor. When the input voltage approaches the output voltage, the device enters ripple-free 100% duty cycle mode to prevent output ripple voltage from increasing. In this operating mode, the device halts switching and turns on the high-side MOSFET. The TPS62746 integrates a 1mA switch for connecting the supply voltage on the VIN pin to the output VINSW. This low-current switch can be used to disconnect a resistive voltage divider from the input supply, typically in conjunction with an ADC to measure the input voltage.
