Overview

The TPS65263-1Q1 contains three synchronous buck converters with a wide input voltage range of 4.0V to 18V. The converters feature constant-frequency peak current mode control, designed to simplify the application while enabling designers to optimize the system for their target application. The switching frequency is adjustable via an external resistor over a range of 200kHz to 2.3MHz. 180° out-of-phase operation between buck1, buck2, and buck3 (buck2 and buck3 operate in phase) minimizes input filter requirements. The initial startup voltage of each buck converter can be set via external feedback resistors. The output voltage of buck2 can be dynamically adjusted using I2C-controlled 7-bit VID over a range of 0.68V to 1.95V in 10mV steps. The slew rate for VID voltage transitions can be programmed via the I2C bus using 3-bit control to optimize overshoot/undershoot during VID voltage transitions. Each buck converter in the TPS65263-1Q1 can be controlled via I2C to: enable and disable output voltages, set pulse skip mode (PSM) or forced continuous current (FCC) mode under light-load conditions, and read power-good status, overcurrent warnings, and die temperature warnings. The TPS65263-Q1 features overvoltage protection, overcurrent protection, short-circuit protection, and overtemperature protection.
