Overview

The TPS65263 integrates three synchronous buck converters supporting a 4.5V to 18V wide input voltage range, which covers most power buses or batteries with intermediate bus off voltages of 5V, 9V, 12V, or 15V. This converter features constant-frequency peak current mode, designed to simplify the application while enabling designers to optimize the system for their target application. The device operates at 600kHz, with buck1 180° out of phase with buck2 and buck3 (buck2 and buck3 operate in phase). The initial startup voltage of each buck converter can be set via external feedback resistors. An I²C-controlled 7-bit VID can be used to dynamically adjust the output voltage of each buck converter over a range of 0.68V to 1.95V in 10mV steps. The VID voltage slew rate can be programmed via 3-bit I²C bus control to optimize overshoot/undershoot during VID voltage transitions. Each buck converter in the TPS65263 can be controlled via I²C to perform the following operations: enable/disable output voltage, set pulse skip mode (PSM) or forced continuous current mode (FCM) under light load conditions, and read power-good status, overcurrent warning, and temperature warning. The TPS65263 features overvoltage protection, overcurrent protection, short-circuit protection, and overtemperature protection.
