The TPS65266-1 integrates a 3-channel high-efficiency synchronous buck converter, suitable for applications powered by adapters or batteries with input voltages below 6V. The DC/DC buck converters integrate power MOSFETs to optimize power efficiency and reduce the number of external components. Peak current mode simplifies compensation and provides fast transient response. The high switching frequency allows the use of smaller, lower-value inductors and capacitors. External compensation supports optimized loop compensation and fast transient response. Under light-load conditions, PSM mode buck converters reduce the input power delivered to the system. In the event of short-circuit or overload fault conditions, discontinuous mode cycle-by-cycle current limiting restricts MOSFET power dissipation. The TPS65266-1 features a power-good monitoring circuit that supervises all converter outputs. Once the output voltage of each channel is regulated and sequencing is complete, the PGOOD pin is asserted. If a buck converter experiences increased power dissipation due to sustained heavy overload or short-circuit conditions, the internal thermal protection circuit shuts down the device to prevent damage. Once the device has cooled sufficiently, it automatically recovers from thermal shutdown.
