MAX5820LEUA+

The MAX5820 is a dual, 8-bit voltage-output DAC with an I²C-compatible 2-wire interface operating at clock frequencies up to 400kHz. The device operates from a 2.7V to 5.5V single supply (supply current of 115µA at VDD = 3.6V), reducing supply current to under 1µA in shutdown mode. The MAX5820 offers three software-selectable shutdown output impedances: 100kΩ, 1kΩ, and high-impedance. Additional features include an integrated precision, rail-to-rail output buffer and a power-on reset (POR) circuit to control DAC power-up in the 100kΩ shutdown mode. The MAX5820 features a double-buffered I²C-compatible serial interface, allowing multiple devices to share a single bus. All logic inputs are CMOS-compatible and buffered by Schmitt triggers, enabling direct connection to optocoupler and transformer-isolated interfaces. Upon detecting an address mismatch, the MAX5820 disconnects the SCL signal from the device, significantly reducing injected digital noise. The MAX5820 operates over the extended industrial temperature range (-40°C to +85°C) and is available in a compact 8-pin µMAX package.
