Overview
ME4074 is a single-cell lithium-ion battery charger that employs a constant-current/constant-voltage algorithm. It is capable of delivering 800mA charging current (with a well-designed thermal PCB layout) and a high-accuracy float voltage. It integrates an internal P-channel power MOSFET and thermal regulation circuitry. No isolation diode or external current-sense resistor is required; therefore, the basic charger circuit needs only two external components. Furthermore, the ME4074 can draw operating power from a USB power source.
