Overview
The NCP1654 is a controller for continuous conduction mode (CCM) power factor correction boost pre - converters. It controls the power switch on - time in fixed - frequency mode (PWM) and adjusts it according to the instantaneous coil current. The circuit comes in an SO8 package, which reduces the number of external components and greatly simplifies PFC implementation. The NCP1654 also integrates high - security protection features, making it a robust and compact PFC stage driver, such as an effective input power runaway clamping circuit.
